COOL Bricks Project Partner Meeting in Veliky Novgorod

The regularly scheduled Project partner meeting of the project "COOL Bricks - Climate Change, Cultural Heritage & Energy Efficient Monuments" took place in Veliky Novgorod (Russia) on February 20–23, 2012.
 
The project COOL Bricks is carried out in the context of the Baltic Sea Region Programme 2007–2013. The project partners are 18 organizations form 9 countries: Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Belarus and Finland. The Republican Centre for Technology Transfer represents Belarus.
 
The inviting party of the project partner meeting was an associated partner of the Project — Veliky Novgorod City Administration.
 
Participants of the meeting discussed the progress in work packages WP1 (Management and Administration), WP2 (Communication and Information), WP3 (Policy Development), WP4 (Technical Innovations), WP5 (Education), exchanged information and defined next steps. An excursion to the Novgorod Kremlin with inspection of the Faceted Chamber (Granovitaya Palata), which is currently under reconstruction, was organized for participants and guests. In the frame of the meeting an International seminar open to the public was held.
 
A welcome speech to the audience gave Yuri Bobryshev, mayor of  Veliky Novgorod. Work package leaders presented interim results of the project COOL Bricks.

- Oleg Arkadiev, Tatiana Romashkevich, Veliky Novgorod United Museum & Reserve "The effect of the environment and natural landscape changes on the state of monuments and monumental paintings in Veliky Novgorod",
- Larisa Bannikova, Veliky Novgorod United Museum & Reserve "The main factors of destruction of architectural monuments on the territory of Veliky Novgorod".
 
On the last day the Steering Committee Meeting was held.
