The Republican Centre for Technology Transfer (RCTT) has joined a group of organizations and institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus to take part in the National Exhibition of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Poland, held on 27 – 30 April 2005. For this event, RCTT has been offered the support and promotion from the Committee on Science and Technology and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
The framework of the exhibition provided room for a Belarusian-Polish seminar dedicated to the topical issues concerning Innovation activity and collaboration between the scientific communities of the two countries in high technology areas. The seminar was held on 29 April, to welcome Ambassador of Belarus to Poland Pavel Latushka, First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of Belarus Mr. Nedilko, Deputy Director of Department of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Scientific Research and Information Technology of Poland Mr. Zbigniew Machula, Academician of the National Academy of Science of Belarus Mr. Sviridyonok, Director of Technopark Poland-East Ltd Mr. Waclaw Bialkowski, National Coordinator of E4PQ Programme (''E4PQ High-Tech Regional Programme to increase Industrial E-Productivity and Quality in CEE/NIS Countries'') in Poland Mr. Jaroslaw Papis among the participants.
The problems and challenges in concern with formation of a common technology zone of Belarus and Poland were taken up during the seminar. The issue was basically covered by RCTT’s Director Mr. Alexander Uspenskiy. He highlighted the necessity, problems and suggested ways of creation of such common technology zone by building up a Belarusian-Polish technology transfer network.
Having considered the subject, the participants of the seminar came to the opinion, that assignment of the principal “Coordination Organization” (to run the activity of the would-be network at RCTT) be the first step in formation of the joint technology transfer network. For this purpose, it has been planned to draw and jointly agree on regulations concerning the ‘Coordinator Organization’, ‘Network Member’ and a model agreement to be subsequently signed between the ‘Coordinator Organization’ and ‘Network Members’.
