On 22 March Mr. Jonathan Brooks, Practice Leader on Poverty Reduction and Economic Development of the UNDP Regional Centre for Europe and the CIS visited RCTT. Mr. Brooks’ visit was paid within the framework of the currently going mission for assessment of the impact of UNDP’s assistance in SME development in Belarus.

First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus Mr. Nedilko, First Deputy Chairman of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Academician Mr. Vityaz, National Expert of the Mission for Assessment of the Impact of UNDP’s Support in SME Development in Belarus Ms Bykova, Director of RCTT Mr. Uspenskiy took part in the meeting.

The meeting participants considered the results and outputs of the recently finished Project BYE/00/004 "Developing an Infrastructure to Support Innovation Activity in the Republic of Belarus” and the prospects for implementation of new international projects in the innovation activity fields. The participants unanimously spoke of the expediency of extending the partnership between the State Committee on Science and Technologies of the Republic of Belarus, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, UNDP and UNIDO for further enhancement of the national technology transfer framework on the basis of information and communication technologies as one of the basic elements to support the innovation SME sector.
