From 20 to 24 September 2017 the delegation of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB) consisting of Academician Aliaxandr Sukalo, Deputy Chairman of the NASB and Dr. Alexander Uspenskiy, Director of the RCTT took part in the 2017 Euro-Asia Economic Forum, which was held in Xian (China) and in the International Congress on Scientific and Technological Innovation and Kick-Off Ceremony of the International Silk Road Academy of Sciences, which was held in Beijing.

About 1000 representatives from more than 30 countries took part in the events. Members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) were widely represented at the forum, including Russia, China and Kazakhstan. Representatives from observer countries and partners in the SCO dialogue were also present. More than 40 exhibitions and round tables devoted to international cooperation in such areas as finance and agriculture, scientific and technical developments and education were held in the framework of the Forum. The main theme of the events is the further development of integration initiatives of the economic belt of the Silk Road and the sea silk road of the 21st century.

Within the framework of the International Congress on Scientific and Technological Innovation of the International Silk Road Academy of Sciences, the Belarusian delegation took part in the discussion of the Draft Charter of the International Silk Road Academy of Sciences, which was attended by representatives of 20 countries (China, Kazakhstan, Russia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bulgaria , Great Britain, Germany, Cyprus, Malaysia, Mongolia, Pakistan, Serbia, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Finland, France, Switzerland). Following the consultations, the Parties signed the Agreement on the establishment of the Committee for the opening of the International Silk Road Academy of Sciences.

During its visit the Belarusian delegation informed participants of the events about scientific and technical achievements of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus from the Catalogue of Innovation Technology Offers by Organizations of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus 2017, the Catalogue "Top 100 Results of Fundamental and Applied Research of the NAS of Belarus" and the Catalogue of Completed Developments of NASB 2016, services and information resources provided by RCTT to foreign companies and investors, as well as an international project with RCTT's participation - EEN Belarus.
