II International Conference “Dataware of Science and Industry. Requirements and Reality” was held on 21 – 22 October in Minsk. The conference was organized by the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, the Republican Library on Science and Engineering, the Republican Centre for Technology Transfer (RCTT), Belarusian Innovation Foundation, under the sponsorship and auspices of the UN Development Programme, Information Publishing Company Novyje Idei (New Ideas), BIY-RTV Ltd.
The agenda of the plenary session of 21 October comprised the issues in concern with economic backup of the national innovation activity, problems and prospects of further development of the innovation infrastructure, information support to development of innovation activity in Belarus, the dataware of the patent examination and appraisal procedures for inventions, commercialization of the research- and technology-related sectors, etc.
On 22 October, another meeting of the conference was held at the conference room of RCTT, presided by RCTT’s Director Mr. A. Uspenskiy. The topic of the sectional meeting was ”The Dataware of Technology Transfer”. Among the speakers there was, in particular: Mr. I. Titov, Director of PIK Ltd. (an innovation Centre from Russia), who delivered a brief report on PIK’s activity and the role of the dataware in its work. Mr. Mitskevich, Deputy Head of the Department of Expert Examination of Inventions at the National Centre of Intellectual Property of the Republic of Belarus, provided a brief review of the existing dataware and in the patent examination procedures in Belarus and the prospects for development of the dataware. The Director of RCTT informed the participants about the scope of the services and information resources offered by RCTT to innovation activity agents. Certain problems related to the dataware of technology transfer were taken up, along with the solutions for the existing problems.
