Polish-Belarusian Seminar of Applied Science

From 4 to 7 October the Conference Centre of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn (Poland) was the venue for the Polish-Belarusian Seminar of Applied Science and the Exhibition of Innovation Development. Both of the events comply with the framework of the Agreement of Cooperation in the Area of Science and Technology signed by the governments of Belarus and Poland.

 

Several high-rank officials and key persons opened the seminar and took part in it. Among those, there were: Ambassador of Belarus to Poland Mr. P.P. Latushka, First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus Mr. Nedilko, State Secretary of Ministry of Science and Information Technology of Poland Mr. Bartosik. More than forty research organizations represented the scientific communities of the two countries.

 

The exhibition highlighted innovation R&D products by developers from Belarus and Poland in the areas of environment protection, medicine, safe technologies and methods of food processing, novel materials, technologies and techniques in mechanical and civil engineering, information and telecommunication systems.

 

The Republican Centre for Technology Transfer suggested more than 500 innovation projects for co-realization with Polish partners. During the events RCTT’s Director Mr. Uspenskiy had talks with Mr.Bialkowski, Director of the East-Poland Centre for Technology Transfer (EPCTT). Prospects for the two centres’ cooperation were the subject of the pourparler.
