Summary

Composite materials based on fluoroplastic-4 and modified carbon fibers produced in Belarus. Designed for production of parts of friction units without lubrication: piston rings, face and gland seals, sleeve bearings in pumps, compressors, stop valve, etc. Work in air and liquids, including aggressive ones, in the temperature range -120 ... +280 ° C.

Description

Composite materials are developed on the basis of polytetrafluoroethylene Fluvis group which in their tribotechnical and mechanical properties surpass similar materials (F4K20, Flubon, etc).
Fluvis composites are used in friction units with high demands for equipment reliability. They are piston rings, rod seals, bearing piston rings of compressors, piston rings used in hydraulic systems, axle bearings, valve seats and ball cocks.
Waco Fluvis is used in friction units operating in dry gases (oxygen, argon, nitrogen) and in vacuum.
Superfluvis material differs by fundamentally new way of modification of carbon filler by nano-coating with a fluorocarbon polymer. This made it possible to make a qualitative leap in the properties of the composite: increase of strength, hardness, thermal conductivity and wear-resistance.
Materials are produced serially by JSC Grodno Mechanical Plant:
- Fluvis - TУ РБ 03535279.071-99.
- Waco Fluvis - TУ BY 400084698.165-2002.
- Superfluvis - TУ BY 400084698.178-2006.

Technology type

Technical advantages and economic benefits

The main advantages of parts made of these composites is the ability to work without lubrication, low wear of both the part and its matching surface, resistance to chemically aggressive environments, reliable operation in remote areas, at low temperatures. Due to its exceptional chemical inertness, they are indispensable in the compressors which should provide high purity of compressed gases and are used in the chemical, food and automobile industries.
Superfluvis material is highly evaluated by the leading CIS manufacturers of heavy compressors – The Sumsk M. V. Frunze Research and Manufacturing Association, and is used in new oilfree rod seals and cylinder-piston groups. With the assistance of the Metal-Polymer Research Institute a series of block-complete piston compressors for compression of dry fuel gas has been created. Seal service life was more than 4000 hours (before seals worked 300 ... 500 hours on average). Now Superfluvis is serially introduced to all CNG stations. And instead of the two compressors (in the event that one fails) only one is installed because it is fail-safe.
