Summary
The developed technology is designed for manufacturing of fireproof molding sand mixtures, heat-resistant coatings, lining materials and other products and satisfies the demand for fireproof materials not only at Unitary Enterprise “Minsk Motor Plant” but also at other metallurgic workshop equipped enterprises.
Description
The developed package slag treatment technology involves slag
pre-conditioning in a special sluice equipped tumble drum for preliminary
separation of fluxing agent inclusions and fine oxide fraction as well as
pre-conditioned slag remelting in a gas or induction furnace with supplementary
degassing flux processing. The resulting secondary aluminium alloys are used
for basic alloy charging adjustments in programme casting production.
A special site was arranged to manufacture fireproof ceramics with slags used
as fine-grained additives in antistick coating production for casting forms and
iron pots, solid-cast lining, molding sand mixtures, and gate system
components.
