Summary

Import-replacing technology and equipment for high-quality wood-based materials and modified wood products.

Description

Sawn timber and cylinder-shaped wood is dried in convection type chamber driers with the use of optimized aerodynamic configuration and drying technology. Circulated air consumption is reduced by 5 – 7%. As for heat loss reduction, it amounts to 8 – 10%. At the same time drying and thermal moist treatment times are also decreased. Drying and heat treatment control logic applied for the above processes is executed with modern automation and control equipment. There exists a wide range of programmes (charts) that could be used to dry wood of various origin and assortment. A complete package of chamber driers was constructed to provide for drying the total of 200m3 sawn timber at one loading (Figure 1).

Due to introduction of liquid fire-retardants and (or) preservative compounds into the treated wood bulk wood modification technology allows a prolonged service life for timber materials. Deep protective wood treatment is done with the use of water-soluble and environmentally safe antiseptic compounds and oil-born wood preservatives, for example, applying oil-in-water emulsion in autoclave under vacuum and pressure. After the preservative treatment wood biostability is increased by 5-12 times as compared to the untreated products. One can also observe a certain improvement of its fireproof and impact resistance properties. The developed type and dimension range of preservative treatment facilities has a one-time loading capacity of 4-30 m3 (Figure 1).
