Summary
Treating and drying of gases and compressed air from impurities
and condensed moisture is the most important way to raise the operational life
of different-purpose vehicles and machinery. At the modern level of automation,
the demand for pure and thoroughly dried gases has considerably increased.
A high-performance device for cleaning and drying of compressed air and other
gases is proposed in this project. This device contains a body frame, a
three-layered filter unit made from two layers of hydrophilous material and one
layer of water repellent; inlet and outlet nozzles; taps for moisture and oil
removal.
Operating principle: holdup of particle impurities at the surface of filtering
element of the 1st layer, inertial separation of water drops, vapour and spray
condensation in volumetrical hydrophilous filtering medium of the 2nd layer and
holdup of newly formed moisture particles at the surface of the 3rd hydrofuge
filtering layer.
Advantages over analogues: simplicity of operation, high degree of treating
from moisture, oil, contamination that is attained due to filter original
design and high-performance of three-layered filtering medium. The filter
provides compressed gas treating from moisture and oil drops and sprays as well
as solid particles with the dimensions of more than 5 micrometers.
Description
The technology of production of high-performance devices for treating and drying of compressed air and other gases is proposed here. This technology includes the following main operations: filter unit production from metallic powder; filter body production, their assembly and carrying out of performance tests.

particles with the dimensions of more than 5 micrometers. At Client’s will,
it is possible to produce oil separators with productive capacity from 60 to
2000 m3/hour.
