Summary

The aim is to develop hardware and software monitoring of premises to improve fire protection and intrusion detection, which consists of a small mobile robot equipped with cameras and fire alarm, and two-way wireless interface. Function of the mobile robot is purposeful movement in autonomous or automatic (under the direct control of the operator) mode in order to systematically gather information on the state-controlled room. Two-way wireless interface is intended for the exchange of measurement and control information between the robot and the remote user. Developed an intelligent system for mobile robot control will perform the following tasks:
1) Monitoring of premises to identify the facts of
- Unlawful entry
- Fire
2) Provision of "remote presence".

Description

A new method of providing security and fire safety is in patrolling and monitoring of residential and industrial buildings with small-sized mobile robot, equipped with specialized sensors. Function of the mobile robot is purposeful movement in autonomous or automatic (under operator control) mode in order to systematically gather information on the status of the controlled object. The project is a software-hardware system that contains the following functional elements:

  1. Vision systems consisting of one or more cameras and video processing device that is designed for the spatial orientation of the robot and to detect unauthorized intrusion into the protected area;
  2. Management system of mobile platform equipped with vision systems and various specialized sensors;
  3. Wireless communication module of robot's two-way communication with the remote user can transmit telemetry (graphic, measuring, and command) information.

Technology type

Technical advantages and economic benefits

  1. Reducing of the number of cameras, sensors and means for displaying information which is necessary for effective monitoring of premises;
  2. The complete absence of "blind zones";
  3. A wider range of functions performed by comparison with existing systems of permanently mounted sensors.

Technology differentiation and uniqueness

The development of both software and hardware components of the new neural network architectures for processing of external information and generating of control signals for mobile robots is proposed.
