Summary
Creation of a dichroic structure based on polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and a dichroic agent (molecular iodine or organic dye). The method is widely used in various versions in production of all types of high-quality polaroids by “Nitto Denko” (Japan), “Polaroid Co” (USA) and “Ace Digitech” (South Korea) companies.
Description
Film polarisers have been developed for use in liquid crystal devices for information display. Polarisers are single-axis oriented polyvinyl alcohol tapes containing a polarizing agent (iodine or organic dyes), and special additives to give the material required optical and mechanical properties. Film polarisers are protected from environmental conditions with a triacetate film and have a layer of adhesive covered with an anti-adhesion polyethylene terephtalate film.
