Summary

Software system of joint modeling enables defining optimal hip joint surgery procedure on pre-surgical stage taking into account features of damaged bony tissue.

Description

Methods, algorithms, and program for preprocess operation and three-dimensional reconstruction of tomography images of joints, segmentation, and classification of planning surgeries objects, anatomical landmark, and cutting surfaces setting

Technology type

Technical advantages and economic benefits

– planning is based on computer tomography images analysis which enables measurement of bones geometrical parameters in three dimensions;
– mode of maximal intensity image construction is maintained in the planning mode which enables use of planning methods for manual planning on the basis of X-ray images;
– segmentation procedure enables separation of various bones from one another by manual setting of several markers;
– planning time is reduced from 1-2 hours to 10-20 minutes;
– planning accuracy significantly increased in comparison with planning on the basis of two-dimensional X-ray images.

Technology differentiation and uniqueness

– segmentation procedure which enables separation of various bones from one another by manual setting of several markers;
– mode of maximal intensity image construction is maintained in the planning mode which enables use of planning methods on the basis of X-ray images worked by surgeons for manual planning during the previous years;
– estimate of parameters in three dimensions on the basis of computer tomography analysis in the planning process which enables significant reduction in the amount of planning mistakes;
– planning method of rotational hip osteotomy based on estimation of degree of spherical top whirlbone.
