Summary

The project is implemented under the Agreement with the Property Management Department of the President of the Republic of Belarus; realization term is 2007-2008. The project provides complex study of history of Byelovezhskaya Puscha from its rise on the human territory to tht XXI century, as well as working out specific recommendations on further development and practical use of the historical and cultural legacy of the National Part “Byelovezhskaya Puscha”.

Technical advantages and economic benefits

The Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus carries out the first complex research of the history of Byelovezhskaya Puscha which was included in the UNESCO’s World Heritage List from its rise on the human territory to the XXI century. The aim of the research is to work out specific recommendations on further development and practical use of the historical and cultural legacy of the National Park “Byelovezhskaya Puscha” .
The research is the first special socially significant scientific research of the history of Byelovezhskaya Puscha, based on original sources and documentary materials, most of which were used in scientific research for the first time .
The results of historical, archeological and ethnographical research are submitted to the Property Management Department of the President of the Republic of Belarus as scientific reports and are used to improve infrastructure of the National Park “Byelovezhskaya Puscha” increasing its attractiveness for tourists.

Technology differentiation and uniqueness

– to study, systematize and classify documental and narrative sources on the history of Byelovezhskaya Puscha, to prepare the most important documentary sources for publication;
– to prepare makeup page of complex scientific work (monograph) for publication where results of scientific research of the history of Byelovezhskaya Puscha, its character and features of reservation conditions within the territory of the Park, system of protective measures within the territory of the reservation in the XIV-XXI centuries will be presented.
– to study files on archeological sites within the territory of Byelovezhskaya Puscha ;
– to prepare specific recommendation which will be approved by the Property Management Department of the President of the Republic of Belarus on museification of the most significant archeological sites of Byelovezhskaya Puscha;
– to develop specific proposals on development of most optimal routes of historical, ecological and enlightened tourism with creation of legends on the proposed routes;
– to prepare for publication makeup page of scientifically reasoned tourist guidebooks on memorable places and historical and cultural sites within the territory of the National Park “Byelovezhskaya Puscha” with sketch maps;
– to develop specific recommendation which will be approved by the Property Management Department of the President of the Republic of Belarus on replenishment of funds and increasing exposition of the Historical Museum of the National Park “Byelovezhskaya Puscha”.
