Summary

Biomolecular analysis is one of the most advanced and fast-developing scientific-practical tendencies in the world. Its practical worth consists in use of special links, short fragments of DNA molecules (oligonucleotides), produced as a result of chemical synthesis. These fragments present the main component of diagnostic analytical systems, based on polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The aim of the study is to develop the technology and to master the production of knowledge-intensive chemical products – oligonucleids that are used for PCR and molecular biology, genetic analysis and genetic engineering. Introduction of the technology will fully cover the need of the Republic in oligonucleids both for scientific research purposes and for clinical diagnostics with the perspective of exporting the product in the future.

Description

Oligonucleids (short DNA fragments) are essential for polymerase chain reaction (PCR), lying in the basis of determining the necessary sequences of DNA in genetic analysis and biomolecular studies.

Technology type

Technical advantages and economic benefits

The quality of product corresponds to the analogue oligonucleids produced in Russia and Europe. The calculated price is much lower than that of the foreign analogues.

Technology differentiation and uniqueness

Creation of scientifically intensive production that is in demand among Belarusian and foreign customers.

Range of applications

To perform PCR – the most modern and informative method of genetic analysis – short DNA fragments are need (oligonucleotides, PCR primers). They are produced by means of chemical synthesis and are further used in scientific researches and clinical diagnostics as a part of PCR kits that help to determine a number of human and animal infections (clamidiosis, tuberculoses, bird flu), genetic diseases, genetic relationship, genetically modified products, etc.
