Summary

The project refers to the sphere of biotechnologies and is used for accelerated multiplication of introduced rhododendrons varieties. It may be used amenity planting, landscape-gardening, folk medicine, perfume manufacturing.

Description

The explants selected from annual shoots of rhododendrons are sterilized during 10 minutes. Sterile explants are put down on culture medium and are incubated under the temperature of 25°С, the photoperiod being 16 hours, the illumination of 4000 lx. Multiplicative explants are bedded in sterile substratum.

The developed clone micro-multiplication method for introduced rhododendrons varieties allows accelerating entrance of rhododendrons in the reproductive phase, i. e. cutting the maturity of rhododendrons blowing from 8 to one year. The method allows putting the accelerated multiplication of introduced rhododendrons varieties in commercial production.
