Summary

The recommendations set up a special system of measures providing for cultivation of shiitake mushroom (Lentinus edodes (Berk.) Sing.) on sawdust substratums in the controlled conditions for enterprises of forestry.

Description

The recommendations contain characteristics of shiitake as a biological object. Cultivation process of Lentinus edodes (Berk.) Sing. is described. The process includes the following stages: preparation of substratum, its inoculation, creating the conditions for vegetative growth and formation of fruit bodies, measures for disease and pest controls during production process, labour arrangements.

The peculiarity of the recommendations contains in use of set-value raw materials, original manufacturing cultivation methods, complex of home equipments and materials. The output of shiitake fruit body makes 20-25% of the humid mass of substratum.

The recommendations are implemented in conditions of Additional Responsibility Society “Lesnaya Krinitsa”, Municipal Unitary Enterprise “Domanovichi Vegetable Dehydration Plant”, and State Forestry-Based Institution “Korenevka Experimental Forest Base of the Institute of Wood of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus” as well.
The recommendations were approved and put into operation by Order of the Forestry Ministry of the Republic of Belarus No 101 of May 02, 2007.
