Summary

Koptevskiy is the first selection variety obtained in the Republic of Belarus with consideration to its soil and climatic conditions, and should to a great extent solve the problem of growing and expansion of areas used for this crop, and, above all, on soils with non-resistant water stress, where growing other crops appears to be unproductive.

Description

New variety of honey clover Koptevskiy is protected by Certificate of Authorship v0001611 (of 23 November 2007) for the variety of plants.

Technology type

Technical advantages and economic benefits

Fertility independent, but does not tolerate soils with poor aeration, occluded and with temporary excess humidity. When placed on such soils, the variety becomes narrow and falls out of herbage. Tolerates integumentary crops well, but exhibits extended sensitivity to herbicides. Average herbage height is 190 cm, in favourable conditions can reach up to 3 m in height. Forms single cutting. During harvesting in stem extension stage, the yield of solids content 50-55 centner/ha, the yield of seeds is 6 centner/ha.
