Summary

The technology comprising selection of parent types of hybrids, agricultural methods for growing them, harvesting and finalization of seeds.

Description

Production of certified early-ripening corn seeds of hybrids (FAO 170-210) is safe with the average yearly sum of effective temperatures being more than 870°C. For these purposes cold-resistant parent types are selected to provide synchronous blossoming. Crops are placed on highly fertile sabulous soils, application of soil herbicides prior to sprouting or prior to phases 3-5 of corn leaves. Harvesting is carried out before frosting (-3°C and higher). Seeds are finalized on an up-to-date corn-calibrating plant.

Technology type

Technical advantages and economic benefits

For the first time in the world a new corn seeds production technology has been developed and introduced in northern latitude 52°. The cost of native seeds is 1.5-2 times, and in some years 3-7 times lower than that of the imported ones with profitability of their production being no less than 25%.

Technology differentiation and uniqueness

With identical certified laboratory germinating capacity, Belarusian seeds sprout in the field 10% better than seeds of southern origin.
