Summary

Hybrid of white cabbage Avatar F1 is meant for cultivation in open ground in all agroclimatic zones of the country. Used for long-term storage, fresh consumption, canning and pickling.

Description

Hybrid of white cabbage Avatar F1late-ripening type with a vegetation period of 165-170 days. Obtained using cytoplasmic male sterility, and exhibits genetic resistance to vascular wilt. Yield up to 120 t/ha, equalisation factor by average head mass is about 90%.

Technology type

Technical advantages and economic benefits

The hybrid can be preserved till April – May, taste properties are high, appropriate for pickling. Commercial yield after 6 months of storage is more than 90%. Appropriate for machine harvesting, transportability is high. More resistant to regular illnesses and pest damage, than the Mara standard.

Technology differentiation and uniqueness

For the first time in the Republic of Belarus, heterotic hybrid is obtained on the basis of cytoplasmic male sterility (CMC). Hybrids on the basis of CMC have been recently emerging in catalogues of foreign companies, they exhibit higher plant evenness.
