Summary
State Scientific Institution "The Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus "(IGIC NAS of Belarus) offers sorption-catalytic and membrane materials for water and air purification and technology for their production
Description
Sorption-catalytic materials are the applied catalysts, allowing purification of water from iron, manganese, hydrogen sulphide.Thermo-modified dolomite with catalytically active oxides of Mn (III, IV) and Cu (II) impregnated at its surface acts as a carrier. Microfilter membrane materials on the basis of silicate ceramics have multi-layer structure and consist of macroporous carrying base (pore size 40-200 μm) with microfilter layer formed at its surface (pore size 1-5 μm). These materials allow to remove mechanical and colloid impurities from liquid and gaseous medium. Ceramic membranes are stable when exposed to mineral acids and organic solvents, they are characterized by improved thermo-stability and mechanical resistance - http://www.igic.bas-net.by/tech.php?id=95&lang=gb

Technology Benefits
The use of local natural carbonate and silicate mineral material (dolomite and quartz sand) allows to obtain sorption-catalytic filter and microfilter membrane materials, which overcome foreign analogues by their performance characteristics and are much cheaper.
Technology Differentiation and Uniqueness
High sorption and catalytic activity, and also retentiveness of designed materials together with their low cost allowed to produce domestic high-performance import-substituting materials for water and air purification.
